Zoo Lights14.

I seriously love our zoo. I know Memphis has its problems, but I genuinely appreciate things like this. Its such great family fun at an affordable price. This was actually my first time going to zoo lights, and it was so magical! I probably had more fun than Rob. Hehe! What can I say? Im  a sucker for cold weather, snow (fake or not), and lights twinkling everywhere. Im a kid at heart. The picture above is me dancing with Rob by this tree. As soon as we pulled up, I yanked him out of the stroller and fell into my own world singing him songs and dancing. It wasn't until I was laughed at by a group of teenagers walking by, that I realized I needed to snap out of it, and remember I was in public. woops! I hate it when I do that. who cares. they'll understand one day. That's what I told myself.:) Seriously, if you think things like this are fun now, wait until you have kids. Their innocence and wonderment with the simplest of things is what awakens the magic inside of your heart. Places like this is what helps me to see the world through my toddlers eyes, and just live in the innocence of such tender moments.. Its so nice. And very refreshing. Im already looking forward to next year, Memphis zoo.

Christmas eve.

Soooo.. it technically wasn't Christmas eve tonight, but when your husband is a fireman, sometimes holidays and other happenings are just celebrated whenever they can! Which was tonight for us, and that is totally fine with me.:) I don't care what day/month/holiday of the year it is, family time is family time. We had this big night of zoo lights planned, but once again it just didn't happen. So my husband came home with dinner, my favorite Christmas movie, and a ginger bread house kit in order to make up for it.  This was actually my first time ever making a gingerbread house. can you believe it? And from the picture above you can tell. ha! poor rob... that thing just fell all apart! But we had a good time, and that is all that matters.(as cliché as it sounds). Building memories to last a lifetime are far more important than worrying about a pretty ginger house. Rob really didn't care either...he was far too consumed with eating the candy pieces :) can you blame him?

Merry Christmas Eve everybody!

Our best take at a family shot. its hard getting a toddler to cooperate!

Sugarplum Party 14.

I sure am blessed with the most amazing job. Not only do I work with these ladies on Saturdays, but I have the privilege of also calling them my friends; such a rare treasure in todays world. My boss mentioned during her speech how unusual it is to have women not just get along, but genuinely enjoy the company of each other. And she's so right. Women have this terrible tendency to tear each other down at times, especially in a work place. I can honestly say at sugarplums that we practice the exact opposite. I always leave my job at the end of the day feeling encouraged, loved, and appreciated by at least one co-worker. We all come from different walks of life, but at work we all get along like we were cut from the same cloth. Its amazing! Its like the differences that don't matter are irrelevant, and the ones that do matter (you know, the subtle differences that make us all unique) are valued and respected. I adore these women, and I am so thankful for their fellowship. And also for the examples my two wonderful bosses have set for me. Their creativity, intelligence, and giving hearts are truly inspiring. May God continue to bless these women and this wonderful business. And may God bless anyone reading this. I hope you all have the Merriest Christmas with good food and lots of good ole fashion family Christmas fun!;) (had to throw in a Clark Griswold saying. ha!)

Christmas Fun!

Christmas memories in the making!:) I love this time of the year because of all the sweet time I get with my family. Rob and I decorating the tree, making cookies,(we could not keep his hands out of that batter!) and just smothering them with gushy mushy love is what I live for this time of year!  All the fun decorations isn't that bad either;) This time of year is enough to make anyone feel extra grateful for their blessings-no matter what they are. For me- its these people above. Gods love and mercy is abundant in my life. Im thankful for everything God has done for me, including giving his son, Jesus Christ, so that I may know him. The hope and peace I have because of that is worth more than gold. Hallelujah Light Has Come! is one of my favorite songs to listen to during this time. It sends chills up my spine. God is so Good!

The shoutouts are to my grandparents. They always made Christmas so special for us. My grandmothers kid at heart nature would come out and shine so brightly around this time of  year. I think that's why I love Christmas so much. She just always made it so much fun. I love you, Mawmaw. I hold my memories of us around this time so closely to my heart. XO.

Happy Tree Decorating/Cookie baking everybody!
